Since 1993 the Bay
Leaf Cafe' has consistently used only the finest and freshest
ingredients for their menu. Partners French Bryan and Taffy Tucker
have been in the restaurant and tourism business since 1975. When
they decided to open the Bay leaf they made a commitment to serve
dishes they would be proud of and treat their customers as family.
You are eating at their table, French is the Chef and Taffy is your
hostess.

The Bay Leaf Cafe' building was built in 1892 as the
Queen City Hotel and went through many years of neglect until
rescued and remodeled in 1993 by French and Taffy. The community
welcomed this new venture with open arms, so much that the Spearfish
Beautification Committee bestowed its first-ever Business of the
Month Award to the Bay Leaf just days after the restaurant opened.

|
The Bay Leaf Cafe' not only presents fine dining in a great
atmosphere they also support the local arts community by featuring
local artist's work. A changing selection of art work hangs on the
walls and is offered for sale.

| Guides to Go |
|
Bay Leaf Café also offers receptive tour services. |
The Bay Leaf Café's Guides to Go service can set up an itinerary,
arrange transportation and provide the step on guide who will tell you
the history of the Black Hills from the eyes of someone who lives here
and loves these Hills.
From family reunions, out of town wedding
parties, class reunions, or just a group of friends getting together let
Guides to Go take the stress out of your planning. Brides have enough to
do without worrying about entertaining out of town guests who have
traveled a long way to help them celebrate but have a day or two on
their own. |
| |
| How about a day trip to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse
with a picnic lunch from the Bay Leaf Café? Or possibly a morning spent
in Hill City's great art galleries and a picnic overlooking Pactola
Lake, a pristine mountain lake with stunning views. We can take a drive
through Spearfish Canyon, a scenic byway just east of Spearfish where
wild trout thrive in the creek and deer, elk and mountain goats can be
seen and the scenic waterfalls run year round. The winter scene from the
movie Dances with Wolves was filmed in Spearfish Canyon and at times you
can still feel the presence of those ghosts from the past. Whatever time
you have let us help plan the adventures for you and your family or
friends. |
